Born in Torquay South Devon in 1950, Norman was always interested in drawing and painting especially the local flora and fauna.
He exhibited his first works at the age of 12 in the local museum in Sanderlings.
On leaving college in 1969, he moved to the East Midland, and spent the next 15 years working in the point of sale display industry, work on projects as varied as cosmetics to car parts, hosiery to shop fronts.
Although he was always painting, it was in 1986 that he decided to become a full time professional artist. At this time Norman’s work varied a great deal from landscapes, natural history subjects, and portraits in Oil and Pastels.
It was love of the countryside and natural history which convinced him to specialise in WILDLIFE and COUNTRYSIDE subjects.
Known for realistic paintings of Game Birds, Wildfowl, sporting subjects, most of his work is commissioned from as far afield as Kenya, South Africa, Australia, and more recently the USA.
