Colin Hayes has lived near Cambridge for over 40 years. For much of that time he has been visiting the North Norfolk coast, where he has a deep love of the saltmarsh and sails his dinghy in Blakeney Harbour. Colin has established a growing reputation as an artist of the East Anglian landscape. He works in pastel mainly in the open air, inspired by the big skies and cloudscapes, the changing light, and by the land and water in all its moods. He has been shown by the RBA at the Mall Galleries in London, by the IEA here at the Picturecraft Gallery in Holt, and many times in Cambridge. His work is now with collectors in 10 countries from the USA and Europe to Australia.
