Celebrating nature in paintings with an eclectic collection of works by leading national and international wildlife artists, including selected Members of the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA).
This exhibition will also feature a retrospective collection of original linocuts by one of the UK’s most important wildlife artists Robert Gillmor MBE SWLA (1936 – 2022).

AN EXHIBITION IN OIL AND ACRYLIC
Alla Prima
1ST JUNE - 9TH JULY
The Gallery’s annual oil exhibition featuring Members of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) and carefully selected artists using this popular and diverse medium.
‘Alla Prima’ is a technique ideal for painting evasive light as quickly as possible particularly to capture the play of light in landscape painting at a specific time of day. Some famous artists who made use of this technique were Vincent van Gogh (1853 – 1890) and Claude Monet (1840—1926).
MAJOR SOLO EXHIBITION
'Under the Sun'

The 16th annual exhibition hosted by The Gallery for internationally acclaimed artist Kieron Williamson.
‘Under The Sun’ will feature a new collection of oils, watercolours and pastels inspired by some of Kieron’s favourite places in the United Kingdom, all of which have been completed over the last twelve months.

Alison Friend
27th July - 8TH August
Alison Friend’s first ever UK solo exhibition hosted by The Gallery, Holt and situated in our sister gallery Adrian Hill Fine Art, adjacent to The Gallery.
A British realist with a modernist vision, Alison’s paintings are inspired by nature and her cheeky sense of humour. Dreamy delicate brush strokes abound every canvas where she captures the secret lives of animals. Every character comes to life on canvas whether having a lolly, chippy tea or a gin!
AN EXHIBITION IN WATERCOLOUR, ACRYLIC AND GOUACHE

This ‘water based medium’ exhibition aims to reveal the professional techniques of painting in gouache, watercolour and acrylic.
Featuring selected Members of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) and the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) this exhibition will present a most interesting and varied collection of original works.

'Pure Gold'
Edward Seago (1910 - 1974)

The Gallery is delighted to host a commemorative exhibition and sale of over 60 original paintings by one of East Anglia’s best loved artists, Edward Seago RWS RBA, representing fifty years since his death.
Seago’s impressionist paintings are held in collections all over the world, including Royal and Government Art Collections. This exhibition will represent one of the largest bodies of work accumulated in Norfolk and will be accompanied by a catalogue of the featured works.

'A Journey in Watercolour'

Ian McManus is one of the UK’s finest exponents in the medium of watercolour. He was chosen as one of ten guest artists to feature and teach at the ‘Youyu International Watercolour Event’ in China and has his work pre-selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI).
This will be the eleventh major solo exhibition for Ian McManus at The Gallery after his debut sell-out show in 2011.

Firmly established as one of East Anglia’s leading art venues, The Gallery has exhibited artwork since 1972, making it the longest running gallery in Holt. This award-winning gallery has undergone numerous changes and it continues to evolve under the ownership and management of Adrian Hill FRSA and his wife Clare.
The Gallery boasts a unique display system that continues to provide a regular programme of themed, multi-artist exhibitions interspersed with major solo shows. This enables The Gallery to provide an exciting, inspirational and stimulating programme of exhibitions, including subject matter-based and medium-based themes, with the aim of providing something for all tastes, at some point in the year.
The Gallery can be found in Lees Yard amongst other eclectic independent business ventures and has really become “the place to visit in Holt”.
Alongside The Gallery is Adrian Hill Fine Art, which opened in July 2013. This gallery operates as a stand-alone gallery that utilises a permanent representation structure comprised exclusively of artists that are Members of the Royal Academy and other Royal Societies, Institutions, Federations.

Please note there are no submission fees.
Adrian Hill Fine Art opened in July 2013 and since then has been showcasing some of the finest paintings exclusively by Members of the Royal Academy and other Royal Institutions, Federations and Societies. Artwork is available to purchase from artists such as David Hockney, L.S. Lowry, and Rosa Sepple, the first female president of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI).
