Wendy Nix
  Watercolour

WENDY NIX is a Lincolnshire artist working in watercolours. She studied at Bristol University achieving a Bsc.Hons. in Zoology. Thereafter Wendy worked with research groups at both Bristol and Cambridge Universities and then became a Science teacher in Bedfordshire. She returned to her home area twenty years ago.

Living in the Fens, inspiration for her art comes from the fen landscapes, skies and churches. Ecological studies at Gibraltar Point in North Lincolnshire promoted an interest in wilderness paintings and wildlife studies. More recently Wendy has concentrated her work on Norfolk focusing on material gathered from beachcombing and taking inspiration the local wildlife and landscape from holidays at Wiveton and walks along the Norfolk Coastal Path.

Wendy has exhibited her images at several galleries in the U.K. and has received high acclaim for her approach to her contemporary and traditional paintings, becoming increasingly collectable amongst wildfowlers and naturalists.

She has had work accepted for the Laing Open (2000), the South Holland Arts Exhibition (2001 & 2009), the Royal Society of Marine Artists (2002) and the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art (2003 and 2005).

Wendy is also a member of M.I.W.A.S and T.W.A.S.I.
