Mita Higton started her journey as a watercolourist as an expat wife living in Dubai in 1990. She joined the local Art group, chose watercolour as the medium she wanted to paint in and this started a love affair that stayed undiminished over the years. It was only after she met and married her second husband, Steve Higton, who is also a Picturecraft artist, did she start to paint seriously. After a couple of years in Utah, USA, Steve and Mita found themselves in Suffolk and the painting moved into a new dimension. Local exhibitions, awards and sales have all helped to convince her to ‘get her work out there’.
Mita’s style is loose, impressionistic and full of colour. The big skies and the grand vistas of the East Anglian sea and landscapes have been truly inspirational for her. |
