I fell in love with Norfolk during the war when I was stationed there for some months.During a career at Lloyd's of London, I started painting in oils some forty years ago, mostly landscapes, but with a preference for seascapes or any scene involving water. I have been lucky enough to have had some paintings exhibited at a gallery in Old Amersham where,I believe, I was the only amateur artist. Also, I have regularly shown my work at Lloyd's where the works are of a high standard. My artistic hero is Edward Seago whose works have long inspired me. I endeavour to paint the light into my paintings and I have been fortunate enough to have received useful advice from professional artists whom I have met. |
