Born and raised in Holt, Norfolk, Chris now lives in South-East London, combining his two main passions – art and wildlife – working as an artist and, since 2006, as Programmes Officer for the Born Free Foundation.
A self-taught artist from an early age, Chris continued to draw for pleasure whilst completing a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art & Italian, followed by a Masters of Research in Environment & Development.
Since its first appearance on the commercial market in 2004, Chris’ work has sold to an international clientele stretching from the USA to Switzerland, and from the UK to Australia. His debut one-man show at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham was a sell-out, and he has made regular sales at the annual National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in Chester.
He has traveled extensively throughout Africa, Central America, Europe and Asia, where he has enjoyed first-hand encounters with many of the animals that now inspire his work.
Part of his commitment to conservation includes donating a percentage of his profits to Born Free’s project work to help keep wildlife where it belongs – in the wild.
Chris welcomes commissions for pets and wildlife. www.cwright.co.uk
